Not only was this our annual big charity fund-raiser, but it was to mark a forthcoming 'significant birthday' for Pat Bretherton of Velindre. Pat requested that we put on the gig and suggested the charity. She also told us that her Goddaughter was an opera singer and would bring some friends along. Whilst we thought that would be good and be the essential difference for this year's event, we had no idea we were to get world-class opera stars and recitalists!
