From the:
8:30am Monday 8th February 2010 Glasbury Village Quire raised £2000 for charity in 2009A SMALL group of villagers sang their hearts out last year and raised charity funds to the tune of £2000 in the process. The Village Quire in Glasbury donated it good causes through fundraisers at the village hall and local pubs and restaurants. Wales Air Ambulance received £1670 and £450 went to Macmillan Nurses after members did the rounds in Glasbury and Hay-on-Wye singing carols and midwinter folk songs over the Christmas period. Their thanks went to those establishments that hosted them and to supporters who attended the Pink Gig operatic event last summer. Click here for the actual article (in a new tab or window) |
